Hand Knotted Carnelian Necklace
Carnelian has been used decoratively and ceremonially since at least the 5th century BC. It was commonly carved to imprint wax seals, since hot wax does not stick to it. It has a beautiful translucent earthy orange color, and a pleasing weight when worn on the body. This strand can be worn doubled over as a necklace, or looped around the wrist as a bracelet.
